5th Grade Boys Travel Tryout Dates

  • Wednesday 9/10 at Middle School A-Gym – 7:00pm
  • Wednesday 9/17 at NYA – 7:00pm
  • Must register before 9/10 tryout date
  • Selection of A-Team will be done on 9/17
  • Additional date for Selection of possible  B-Team TBD

2014–2015 SEASON REGISTRATION

Registration opened Sept. 1 and closes October 15 for all leagues.

There is a $25 late fee for registering after September 30.
Those wishing to participate in travel must register prior to their tryouts.

Family Plan Pricing is available and Fee must be paid at time of registration.
Registration Fee for 3rd youngest child & each additional younger sibling is $40.00 off.
Example: A family has 1 Junior, 1 Intermediate and 1 Midget their cost would be: $410 (150 + 150 + 110).
Families needing assistance will have their fees reduced or waived by contacting the NYBA Treasurer

ALL dates, times, and places are subject to gym availability. Please check the website for start times and dates.
REGISTRATION IS LIMITED AND ON A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED BASIS. NO CHANGES MADE TO ROSTERS ONCE SET,

 

BIDDY BASKETBALL Grades K & 1 This is an instructional division with focus on basic skills.
FEE: $115.00 Slots are filled on a first come-first served basis.
Sessions are on Saturday’s starting December 6, 2014. Location: Newtown Youth Academy and will run for 10 sessions.


 

MIDGET DIVISION Grades 2 & 3 FEE: $150. Separate leagues for girls and boys.
ALL Midget Division clinics are held at the Reed School.
GIRLS Clinic Dates: Saturdays, November 1 and November 8. Players attend both Saturdays.
BOYS Clinic Dates: Sundays, November 2 and November 9. Players attend both Sundays.
BOYS ATTEND CLINIC ACCORDING TO THE FIRST LETTER OF THEIR LAST NAME. Clinic times TBA, but will be in the afternoon.
Midget Division games are on Saturdays and will start on December 6, 2014.
Teams are assigned in late November. Practice will be the same time and place each week.


 

BANTAM DIVISION Grade 4 FEE: $150. Separate leagues for girls and boys.
In-House League games: Saturdays starting on December 6, 2014. Teams will play 11 games.
Players must attend an evaluation – dates and times available on the web site during registration.


 

INTERMEDIATE DIVISION Grades 5 & 6 FEE: $150. Separate leagues for girls and boys. (Girls grades play together)
In-House League games: Saturdays starting on December 6, 2014. Teams will play 11 games plus playoffs.
Players must attend an evaluation – dates and times available on the web site during registration.


 

JUNIOR DIVISION Grades 7 & 8 (grades play together) FEE: $150. Separate leagues for girls and boys.
In-House League games: Saturdays starting on December 6, 2014. Teams will play 11 games plus playoffs.
Players must attend an evaluation– dates and times available on the web site during registration. .


 

SENIOR DIVISION Grades 9 – 12 FEE: $175. Separate leagues for boys and girls.
Games start in December and will be played on weeknights.
The planned season schedule is 15 games plus playoffs. Location: HS & NYA
Registration is first-come, first-served. Team captains (Seniors) will contact players prior to the first game.


 

TRAVEL LEAGUES Registration Fee: $150 plus an additional $295 if a player makes a travel team.
A parent meeting for those interested in having their child trying out for a travel team
will be held In early September. See web site for details.
GAMES: Most Saturdays & Sundays. Practices will start in October.
TRAVEL DIVISIONS: Girls: 5th thru 8th Grade. Boys: 5th thru 8th Grade.
If trying out for travel teams use the appropriate in-house program code when registering and check Y under ‘Trying out for Travel’.
ALL PLAYERS MUST ATTEND BOTH TRYOUTS. Travel candidates must register prior to their first tryout date.

NYBA Refund Policy: Full refunds are available on requests that are submitted prior to the date of the first scheduled game. There is a $20 administrative charge back. Partial refunds are available on requests received on or after the date of the first scheduled game to December 6, 2014. The refund amount is 50% of the amount paid including administrative fee.
